Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s , ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi‘ starring Alia Bhatt is one of the highly anticipated movies of the year. Recently, the makers revealed that the film is all set to hit the big screen on February 25.
The official handle of Bhansali productions shared an update on Twitter.
Speaking about the film, it is a period film, adapted from one of the chapters of noted author Hussain Zaidi’s book, ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. It will feature Bhatt in the title role of Gangubai, one of the most powerful, loved and respected madams from Kamathipura during the 1960s.
In a previous interaction with Bombay Times, SLB had opened up about the film. He said that Gangubai Kathiawadi is a very special film to him. The filmmaker stated that it has not been easy.
He further added that they made it during the pandemic he has have given it all and can’t wait to share it with everyone.
The film also stars Seema Pahwa and has cameo appearances by Ajay Devgn and Huma Qureshi.
